CATALOG

The exhibition catalog is a 24-page saddle-stitched publication designed by Aimée Dopa, inspired by the graphic identity and exhibition website by Amy Fang. The two-color riso-printed, editioned catalog features work by 18 artists, as well as new essays by re:connections curator Audrey Min and Courtney Loi (MA 21, Aesthetics and Politics).

ARTIST BOOK

The limited-edition artist book re:connections (2021) features 18 contributions by graduates in the CalArts programs in Art, Art and Technology, and Photography and Media, as well as an introduction by Tatum Howey (MFA 21, Creative Writing). Across two spreads and an index each, MFAs reflect on their artistic practice in the past two years—before and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. re:connections offers unique insights into process: from research materials and correspondence, to in-progress and finished works. The publication is made in collaboration with Courtney Loi (MA 21, Aesthetics and Politics), Matthew R. Bussa (MFA 20, Creative Writing), and CalArts Visiting Faculty Zoe Strauss, who crucially helped bring it to fruition.

The artist book re:connections released on February 20, 2022, at the Mackey Apartments Block Party hosted by MAK Center, featuring Audrey Min, Ashley Hunt, Tatum Howey, and Zoe Strauss, in conversation.
